What happens in a session?
Our sessions are very much guided by you and will vary depending on what to bring into the room. They will involve you talking through your issues/problems with me listening and asking questions to help you with your thoughts and to make links with what is happening for you. We will discuss the now as well as where you want to be and how you can get there. We may talk a little about your past too in order to better understand where you are today, but our focus will be on moving forward to tomorrow. You are the expert in your life and so I always take your lead. I may offer some suggestions as to techniques that may help or I may introduce some NLP strategies to help you to move forward and become unstuck. For any techniques or interventions that I use, we will always have a discussions first and you can then choose if it is something you feel you want to do.
Can a life coach 'fix' me?
You are the only person who can make positive changes to yourself. A life coach will walk alongside you, offer supportive strategies and implement interventions which can be fantastic in enabling change and patterns to be broken and rebuilt. It is down to you to lead this process and allow for it to happen. You are always in control.
Do I have to do lots of homework?
I think it depends how you look at it. I don't believe that the work in a coaching or therapeutic relationship starts and ends in the room, it extends into everyday life. The more that you invest in this opportunity, the more that you will gain. Sometimes we will talk about things you may want to try or accomplish between sessions in order to support our work together.
How many sessions do I need?
This depends on your individual circumstances and what you want. Usually 6 sessions is the least amount of sessions to allow for positive change.
What does it cost?
I offer a free initial phone session of 30 minutes to discuss your needs and to see if you want to work with me. I then charge £45 per 1 hour session which can be paid by cash or cheque at the end of the session or via bank transfer before the session.
